USD 1.7 Billion in Resources to Be Made Available to Investors by the End of 2021
Stating that the Bank maintained its sustainable growth in 2020 and that this was reflected in its financial results, TKYB CEO İbrahim Öztop announced that the Bank would preserve its strong growth momentum in 2021. Stating that the Bank continued to carry out its development and investment banking functions competitively and dynamically in line with Türkiye’s development priorities, İbrahim Öztop said: “Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic period, our Bank’s growth momentum did not slow down in 2020. Loans and funds secured from international resources are of great importance in increasing our country’s production potential and balancing the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic activity. As a Bank, we brought one-third of the resources we secured from abroad over the last 15 years into our country in 2020. In 2021, we will continue working without interruption with the same approach and service philosophy, aiming to make USD 1.7 billion in resources available to businesses by the end of the two-year period.”
During the Pandemic, We Brought the Largest International Resource to Türkiye with USD 550 Million in Funds
Emphasising that the Bank implemented important projects and supported the national economy and investors in 2020, Öztop said: “During 2020, we brought new long-term resources into the economy. To support sectors prioritised in the 11th Development Plan and reduce external dependence, we made the TRY 18 billion ‘Investment Support Loan’, funded by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, available with a 10-year maturity to our investing businesses. We carried out initiatives to increase production and employment at businesses affected by the pandemic. We began disbursing the USD 300 million Türkiye Covid-19 Loan brought into our country from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to our businesses. We signed another USD 250 million loan agreement with the World Bank. In 2020, with a total resource of USD 550 million, we became the Bank that brought the largest amount of funds from international resource institutions into our country under Covid-19 support. In 2021, together with normalisation and recovery, we will continue investing in Türkiye’s future by further increasing the added value we create for our country’s sustainable development and supporting our businesses’ investments, as always.”
