Procedures Regarding International Resources
Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Credit / Policy Statement
On 10 December 2019, the Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye (TKYB) successfully secured its inaugural loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), amounting to USD 200 million, earmarked for investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Following the effective allocation of this initial funding, TKYB subsequently obtained an additional USD 100 million to further enhance private-sector investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Türkiye.
Through the agreements referenced above, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has instituted the Project-Affected People’s Mechanism (PPM) policy for projects funded under these facilities. Individuals affected by these projects with environmental or social concerns are encouraged to report such issues through TKYB’s grievance mechanism or directly to AIIB management. Should the resolution of these concerns fail to meet their expectations, individuals retain the right to escalate their grievances to the PPM. For detailed information regarding the assistance provided by the PPM, please refer to the "How We Assist You - Project-Affected People’s Mechanism" section on the AIIB website.
KfW Loan Facility and International Climate Initiative (IKI) Grant
TKYB serves as the implementing agency for the climate finance loan facility and grant facility funded by KfW and the International Climate Initiative (IKI). For projects financed by IKI as of 2023, a dedicated grievance mechanism has been established. Complaints and concerns can be formally submitted via the following link: Independent Complaint Mechanism | Internationale Klimaschutzinitiative (IKI).
