Agriculture and Food Security
Agriculture and Food Security
To promote a sustainable future, we prioritize our country’s agricultural potential and food security by providing specialized financing for investments that foster agricultural development, enhance food accessibility, and ensure food security, with particular emphasis on regions impacted by the earthquake.
Unreliable food and agricultural practices pose substantial risks to public health and the national economy. In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye (TKYB) strategically emphasizes food security and agricultural development. Accordingly, we finance enterprises focused on improving food accessibility, developing resilient supply chains, promoting sustainable farming practices, and increasing the supply of agricultural commodities.
Through the Post-Earthquake Recovery and Agri-Food Support financing packages, sourced from international development finance institutions, we provide long-term credit facilities and remain dedicated to addressing ongoing food security needs and overcoming the challenges posed by the earthquakes.
We provide favorable credit terms for investments and initiatives aimed at revitalizing agricultural production in Türkiye, specifically targeting the 17 provinces most affected by the February 2023 earthquakes, with primary focus on enhancing food security, supporting resilient agricultural value chains, promoting sustainable agriculture, and food production systems.
In addition to financing investments within this framework, we aim to meet the pre-export and pre-import working capital requirements of investors through our trade finance initiatives.
The 17 provinces within the Earthquake Zone Scope include Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Kilis, Osmaniye, Diyarbakır, Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, Elazığ, Bingöl, Kayseri, Mardin, Tunceli, Niğde, Batman.
