Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye’s Total Assets Reach TRY 185 Billion
Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye (TKYB) announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2025. In the first six months of the year, the Bank increased its total assets by 28.6% year on year to TRY 185 billion. It also increased its loan portfolio to TRY 109.3 billion through financing provided to high value-added projects.
Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye disclosed its financial results for the first six months of 2025 on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). During the first half of 2025, the Bank increased its total assets by 28.6% year on year to TRY 185 billion.
The loan portfolio rose by 19% year on year to TRY 109.3 billion, while the ratio of gross non-performing loans to total loans, an important indicator of asset quality, remained at 0.60%. The Bank’s average return on equity stood at 36%, while net profit increased by 47% year on year to TRY 4 billion.
We Continue Supporting the Earthquake-Affected Region Through International Cooperation
Stating that the Bank maintained strong cooperation with international financial institutions and continued supporting the earthquake-affected region in the first half of 2025, TKYB CEO İbrahim Öztop said: “We resolutely continue our work for the development of regions affected by the earthquakes. On May 23, 2025, we signed a new USD 500 million loan agreement with the World Bank, under the guarantee of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance, to increase formal employment in 11 provinces affected by the February 6, 2023 Kahramanmaraş-centred earthquakes and seven neighbouring provinces. The resource will be used to meet the investment and working-capital needs of businesses in the region, preserve existing employment and create new employment opportunities. By providing financing to a broad range of enterprises, from SMEs to large companies, we aim to contribute to the region’s sustainable economic recovery.”
We Add Value to Strategic Projects Through Investment Banking Activities
Stating that the Bank continued its investment banking activities effectively in the first half of 2025, Öztop said: “With our expertise in capital markets and financial advisory, we continued to diversify our services for public- and private-sector institutions. We acted as exclusive financial adviser on a total of 15 private-sector projects, in addition to EÜAŞ power plants and port projects owned by the Privatisation Administration. In this context, we successfully completed the transfer of the operating rights of Kalamış Marina on February 5, 2025, and we continue our work on other port and energy projects. By taking an active role in the strategic partnership and fundraising processes of companies operating in strategically important sectors such as technology, start-ups, food and e-commerce, we contributed to building strong links with investors.”
Öztop also highlighted that, as part of the Bank’s capital-markets activities, it acted as lead institution in Kalyon Güneş Teknolojileri’s TRY 3.26 billion initial public offering and successfully completed two separate sukuk issuances totalling TRY 400 million through Kalkınma Yatırım Asset Leasing Inc. on behalf of Tarfin Tarım A.Ş., which operates in agricultural technologies.
We Continue Creating Long-Term Value for the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
TKYB CEO İbrahim Öztop stated that the Bank resolutely continued its entrepreneurship activities during the first half of 2025. Öztop said: “As of the first half of 2025, the total resources transferred to the entrepreneurship ecosystem by the Türkiye Development Fund exceeded USD 59 million, comprising USD 26.2 million for 37 direct investments, USD 23.4 million for seven fund investments and approximately USD 9.7 million for 355 TÜBİTAK BiGG ventures. In the second half of the year, we aim to further strengthen our central role in Türkiye’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem through both direct and indirect investments.”
We Resolutely Continue Our Sustainability Efforts
Stating that the Bank continued its investments in line with Türkiye’s sustainable development objectives, Öztop said: “We are proud to have taken our strong sustainability performance one step further. Our sustainability-themed loan portfolio accounts for 96% of our total loan portfolio. We directed 61% of the resources we secured to renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects. Approximately 7% of renewable energy projects in Türkiye have been financed through our Bank, and these projects have contributed to the avoidance of 4.2 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. In the period ahead, we will continue supporting our country’s green-transition process by promoting climate-friendly investments.”
