Scope of Contract: Within the scope of the Project, the Environmental Specialist will work under the supervision of the PIU Coordinator and the Environmental and Social Team to support the activities of the 2nd Component and 3rd Component (3.B, 3.D, and 3.E) of Formal Employment Creation. The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for (i) ensuring that environmental risks related to the implementation of sub-grant projects are managed adequately and systematically in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Environmental and Social Standards of the World Bank, and ensuring the environmental compliance of the project at every stage of implementation; (ii) ensuring the early identification and appropriate handling of environmental issues related to the project as envisaged under the relevant Environmental and Social Commitment Plan and E&S safeguard documents to support the 2nd Component and 3rd Component (3.B, 3.D, and 3.E) activities of Formal Employment Creation.
