SMS & SIM Card Fraud
If your mobile device or SIM card is lost or stolen, notify our Bank immediately. Before transferring ownership of your device to another party, ensure that all banking applications have been uninstalled and that your electronic banking login credentials have been removed. Should you change your telephone number, remember to promptly update your registered contact information in our electronic banking systems.
Furthermore, to protect against SMS-based fraud, approach text messages received from unknown numbers with caution and avoid opening shortened URLs included in such communications, as they are often associated with malicious intent.
- Avoid entering personal data, passwords, card numbers, or PINs on web pages accessed through links in suspicious SMS messages.
- If a link within an SMS directs you to download an application from your device’s official app store, verify the application beforehand. Should you inadvertently install such an application, perform a factory reset on your device immediately, as these malicious applications often run in the background to siphon information about your identity or financial accounts, potentially enabling fraudulent activity.
- Refrain from responding directly to any SMS that solicits personal information via a "Reply" action.
