Strong Passwords

Strong Passwords & Password Habits

Please remember that your social media and personal email accounts require a security level equivalent to that of your banking accounts. To safeguard yourself and to avert potential compromises of your personal accounts by malicious individuals or groups, we strongly recommend observing the following fundamental principles:

  • Passwords must consist of both uppercase and lowercase letters (e.g., a–z, A–Z).
  • Each password must include at least one alphabetic character, one numeric digit, and one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*()_+|~-=\{}[]:";'<>?,./`).
  • The minimum length for passwords must be 10 characters.
  • Password credentials entered at https://kredi.kalkinma.com.tr and https://online.kalkinma.com.tr/ must never be shared with anyone.
  • Contact the Bank immediately in the event of any security-related incidents, such as password theft or suspected fraud.
  • Passwords used to access the Bank's website must not be recorded or stored in a manner that is visible or accessible to third parties.

Furthermore, to mitigate the risks associated with password cracking and brute-force guessing, it is essential to adopt secure password practices by strictly refraining from the following practices:

  • Passwords should not consist of complete words excerpted from dictionaries or encyclopedias in any language.
  • Avoid the inclusion of easily identifiable personal information, such as family member names, pet names, or hobbies, as well as computer terminology and system commands.
  • Passwords must not contain any telephone numbers, birth dates, or physical addresses.
  • Refrain from using previously used passwords.
  • Avoid sequential alphabetic characters (e.g., abcd, aaa, bbb).
  • Avoid sequential numerical patterns (e.g., 1234, 5432, 2367, 1111).
  • Passwords must not reflect standard keyboard layouts written in a forward or backward manner (e.g., qwerty, abcdefgh, zyxwvuts).

To eliminate potential risks associated with password security, our Bank has adopted the prescribed best practices for password creation as a core security principle.
