Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Loan / Policy Declaration

On December 10, 2019, Türkiye Kalkınma ve Yatırım Bankası (TKYB) secured its first loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), amounting to USD 200 million, for investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Following the successful allocation of this loan, TKYB received an additional USD 100 million in financing to further support private sector investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Türkiye.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has established the Project-Affected People's Mechanism (PPM) policy, which is relevant for projects financed through these above mentioned agreements. Should individuals impacted by these projects have any environmental or social concerns, they are encouraged to communicate these issues via TKYB's grievance mechanism or directly to AIIBs management. If the resolution of these concerns does not meet their expectations, they are entitled to escalate their grievances to the PPM. For more comprehensive information on the support provided by the PPM, interested parties can visit the "How We Assist You - Project-Affected People's Mechanism" section on the AIIB website.

KFW Loan Facility and IKI Grant

TKYB is the implementing agency of the climate finance loan facility and grant facility funded by KfW and the International Climate Initiative (IKI) respectively. IKI has established a centralized complaint mechanism for their funded projects in 2023 and it can be accessed here: Independent Complaint Mechanism | Internationale Klimaschutzinitiative (IKI).
